Prevent the unsightly situation of creasy, greasy eyelids with a little prep work.  A water-resistant eye shadow base spread lightly over the eyelid will create a smooth surface and prevent the slip and slide of your eye make-up.  Try Laura Mercier’s Eye Basic or MAC Prep + Prime for eyes.  Both come in a variety of neutral colors to match or enhance the skin tone on your eyelids.  Use as an undercoat to eye makeup, or just by itself for a clean fresh look.

For extra oily lids: Pat a small amount of translucent powder on top of the eye shadow.  The powder will help to absorb excess oils that collect on the lid.
