Ask Us: Camouflage Your Skin

Ask Us: Camouflage Your SkinLee needs help: “I am a 22 year old male, fair skinned and have facial Ulerythema on my cheeks, it has very sharp distinctive edges.  What camouflage or products would you recommend for me in order to achieve the best results?  Is the camouflage visible to the eye?”

About Ulerythema: A skin condition that primarily affects your cheeks and eyebrows, and may cause these areas to be red and bumpy.  Although the cause is unknown, the effects are lasting.  Ulerythema may cause damage to the follicle resulting hair loss (most commonly the eyebrow) as well as scarring.  The condition does however, usually improve with age.  Ulerythema is most commonly found within children and young adults.

Treatment: Most medical treatments for this condition have been unrewarding, however products containing salicylic acid or lactic acid may be helpful in providing short term relief.  Sun protection is highly recommended, frequent exposure to UV aggravates the skin’s delicate condition.

Skinplistic focused on three products that would be effective for this type of camouflage, however the techniques and products we discuss will also be relevant to other camo-concerns.

Quick Tip: Beautiful Blush

Quick Tip : Beautiful BlushBlush is meant to give you a soft glow or a youthful healthy complexion.  Blush, like foundation, should never really be noticeable.  First, when you apply blush using a brush, make sure to tap off excess powder before applying it to your face.   Next, lightly tap the blush into the apples of the cheeks while gently blending out (a backward C motion works well).  The apple of your cheeks is where you naturally blush; applying it anywhere else may be unnatural and noticeable.

Emilio Pucci Does Cosmetics

Emilio Pucci Does MakeupFollowing in the footsteps of  Giorgio Armani and Christian Dior, Pucci will now be diving deeper into beauty with it’s first ever color cosmetics collection.  Pucci is known for luxurious refinement and an attention to detail, it’s intensely colorful prints can be spotted from a mile away!  Pucci’s five piece “limited edition” collection was created with Guerlain and will launch this May.

The collection was inspired by a scarf made specially for the project, the fuchia, mauve, apricot and turquoise print cannot go unnoticed, the print is part of the products outer packaging as well as some of the cases which contain the actual makeup.

The Eye Set [$75] has been named the line’s star product, it’s a reusable makeup case containing kohl eyeliner, mascara and a four shadow palette.  Guerlain’s signature Meteorites [pressed-powder beads], in the same bright Pucci colors will also be available in the collection along with a mousse blush and four exclusive lip gloss shades.  With the brightly colored Pucci print and the “limited addition” status the new collection should create quite a buzz and possibly attract a younger clientele to the more mature Guerlain client base.
