Six Shisedio stores in the UK will soon be getting one of these pieces of wizardry on their counters.  The S-Touch Analyzer can apparently analyse your skin and tell you things like your skin type, skin vitality, texture, cell turnover, wrinkles, elasticity and and levels of melanin.  From this, obviously, Shisedio can sell you lots of products to remedy your depressing skin problems (because, lets face it, these machines never give out good news).  You can go back six weeks later and see how much your skin has improved and spend loads more money.  It’s a never ending cycle of spending!  Read More

How To: Soft and Smokey

How To: Soft and SmokeyJessica Alba (aka Honey Daniels) has mastered looking both sexy and cute-as-a-button at same time.  With that dazzling smile, gorgeous skin, and a hot bod, does the girl ever have an ugly day?   The starlet plays it smart by enhancing her natural beauty in a fresh, pretty and young style.  Here’s our take on this look which is balanced and soft, featuring a colored smokey eye.

Quick Tip: Prevent Eye Shadow Creasing

Quick Tip: Prevent Eye Shadow CreasingPrevent the unsightly situation of creasy, greasy eyelids with a little prep work.  A water-resistant eye shadow base spread lightly over the eyelid will create a smooth surface and prevent the slip and slide of your eye make-up.  Try Laura Mercier’s Eye Basic or MAC Prep + Prime for eyes.  Both come in a variety of neutral colors to match or enhance the skin tone on your eyelids.  Use as an undercoat to eye makeup, or just by itself for a clean fresh look.

For extra oily lids: Pat a small amount of translucent powder on top of the eye shadow.  The powder will help to absorb excess oils that collect on the lid.

Quick Tip: A Beautiful Bronze

Quick Tip: A Beautiful BronzeBronzer is not a self tanner, it is meant to be used to highlight your skin during the summer months.  When using a bronzer, keep in mind your goal is to mimic where the sun naturally hits the face.  In order to get the most natural looking bronze, remember– it shouldn’t be more than two shades darker than your skin.  If you’re fair try a pink or peachy tone, for olive skin a more coppery shade works well, and finally the best compliment for dark skin tends to be bright orange-red copper tones.  Just try to keep the bronzer on the bones—cheekbones, the bones above the temples, the bridge of your nose and chin!  Lastly, don’t forget to dust the same bronzer down the center of you neck and collarbones to keep your brozed complexion consistant throughout.
