LipFusion was the first lip-plumping gloss I ever tried, so no matter how many others I test out, there’s always a special place in my heart (and on my face) for it. And I recently returned to Fusion Beauty’s famous formula when they introduced a new version of the gloss: Smile Whitening Color Shine.

Now, of course, you don’t actually put this on your teeth (unless you’re that woman who always manages to get lipstick on her teeth when she dares to converse right after application… which is me, unfortunately). Just like the other LipFusion glosses, you apply it generously to your lips, where you’ll feel that subtle sensation that indicates it’s working towards making your lips fuller. But it’s also creating an ideally flattering color contrast between your lips and teeth, minimizing the look of yellowness and maximizing brightness.

Both my fuller-than-before lips and my teeth have just the right amount of pretty shine when I where this updated classic, and I leave the house feeling confident that my mouth is my best feature. (Until I open it, that is.)

At a young age most girls have an innate fascination with makeup and beauty.  Rummaging through your mother’s vanity to see what glorious treasures you’ll find, is a memorable experience for many, but beyond the “dress-up,” when is the right time for young girls to actually wear makeup?  What type of makeup is appropriate?

Marcus Geeter, or “The Makeup Therapist” has some great tips and tricks for teens and their makeup.  Beginning at age 13, Marcus suggests eyebrow tweezing and clear lip gloss for a more polished look without makeup is best.  By fifteen he suggests a neutral eye shadow to define the eye, regular mascara and a concealer that matches skin tone to hide imperfections.  Less is more at a young age. Use of heavy foundation and lipstick isn’t appropriate and may clog pores, which often results in unnecessary acne.  Geeter also recommends creating a simple skin care regime at a young age.  Don’t forget, the better your skin, the less makeup you’ll need!

We don’t spend twenty dollars a tube for lipstick just to re-apply every five minutes!  Unfortunately we don’t have a choice, with all the talking and eating we do our lipstick is bound to wear off.  Expert makeup artist Elke von Freudenberg has some great tips and tricks for achieving perfectly pouty long-lasting and matte lips.  He accomplished long-lasting lips by using eye shadow and clear gloss, fuller lips by softening out the lip line with concealer and matte lips with loose powder and a Kleenex. Following in the footsteps of  Giorgio Armani and Christian Dior, Pucci will now be diving deeper into beauty with it’s first ever color cosmetics collection.  Pucci is known for luxurious refinement and an attention to detail, it’s intensely colorful prints can be spotted from a mile away!  Pucci’s five piece “limited edition” collection was created with Guerlain and will launch this May.

The collection was inspired by a scarf made specially for the project, the fuchia, mauve, apricot and turquoise print cannot go unnoticed, the print is part of the products outer packaging as well as some of the cases which contain the actual makeup.

The Eye Set [$75] has been named the line’s star product, it’s a reusable makeup case containing kohl eyeliner, mascara and a four shadow palette.  Guerlain’s signature Meteorites [pressed-powder beads], in the same bright Pucci colors will also be available in the collection along with a mousse blush and four exclusive lip gloss shades.  With the brightly colored Pucci print and the “limited addition” status the new collection should create quite a buzz and possibly attract a younger clientele to the more mature Guerlain client base.
